From Garden to Jar ~ Live ferments for a happy gut
Kimchi is a traditional Korean pickle consisting of lacto-fermented vegetables, often fermented in a spicy seasoning paste. Kimchi is rich in vitamin C, A, thiamine (B1), riboflavin (B2), carotene, calcium, iron and contains live lactic acid bacteria. Kimchi is often made with wombok (chinese cabbage), however we make kimchi with many different vegetables! Enjoy with eggs, meat, salads, sandwiches, stir-fry's, rice, noodles, soups, stews, toast or straight from the jar!
Sauerkraut is a german pickle consisting of lacto-fermented cabbage, plain or flavoured with other vegetables, herbs and spices. Raw, lacto-fermented sauerkraut is rich in enzymes and beneficial microbes, and also contains live lactic acid bacteria (probiotics). It's a great source of vitamins C, B, and K, it's low in calories and high in calcium and magnesium, and it's a very good source of dietary fibre, folate, iron, potassium, copper, and manganese.
Enjoy as a side to any meal, with eggs, potatoes, meat, salads, sandwiches, soups, stews, or straight from the jar!
Fermented vegetables are lacto-fermented in the same way as sauerkraut and have the same health benefits but contain no cabbage. These ferments are perfect for introducing people to fermented foods, especially kids! These are a great addition to salads, sandwiches, burgers and more!
